The originality is to extend the standard query-by-example video retrieval based on the Bag of Visual Words (BoVW) model by including Spatial Temporal Correlations (STC) to improve similarity measurement. Two widely used datasets of video footage have been used to evaluate our method, and results demonstrate clearly that including STC substantially improves the retrieval model. The results were presented at CIKM2012, one of the top conferences in information retrieval (14% acceptance rate).
