<33>This paper is a nationwide examination of emergent digital services in Scottish public libraries. It provides a critical appraisal of services, highlighting issues of innovation and duplication. Using the empirical data gathered it proposes a model taxonomy of digital services that could be implemented by library services. It is the first study of its kind to examine library websites across an entire public library domain and thus provides an accurate picture of this important aspect of information delivery to Scottish citizens. Follow up studies are currently being conducted examining the situation in Wales and London.
