Additional information

<12>Measuring similarity of strings, through string kernels, is an important class of computer science problems, which has applications in text processing, image processing and computational biology, demography and decision making. This paper is the culmination of a fruitful collaboration with Professor Cees Elzinga, VU University Amsterdam. It is also the basis of an EPSRC proposal on document understanding for medical applications, CaseBook, jointly with Queen’s University Belfast and Dundee, to be submitted shortly.
