This work, carried out in partnership with CENEX, ChargeYourCar and Strathclyde University, involved the evaluation of the first publically available fast charging system for electric vehicles in the UK. The results of the study highlight both the overall efficiency of the fast charging system and the effect it has on the local power grid. This piece of work was included in the SmartMove Case Study report produced by Cenex as part of a programme funded by the Department for Business, Industry and Skills (BIS) and was used to influence further decisions regarding fast charger installation in North East England.
