As indicated in footnote ten of this article some previously published historical ethnography is drawn upon and reworked to advance an argument about analysing contemporary Melanesian Christianity. It is a standalone piece that uses similar historical ethnographic material but in a different analytical framework as part of a critique of how cultural change is conceptualised in Melanesian anthropology.
