Chanter l'existence : La poésie de Sando Marteau et ses horizons philosophiques
Sando Marteau is a Swahiliphone performing artist living in Lubumbashi, DRC. Full of melancholy tones, his songs express the malaise of contemporary Congolese society, but they equally address the general situation of the human being in the world. This book situates Sando Marteau’s work in the intellectual contexts of Swahili literature, philosophy (especially African philosophy), and Congolese music. It explores the philosophical dimension of the songs, which it characterizes as “implicit existentialism”. The book also examines the possibility of using the genre of musical performance to express philosophical thought.
