This paper builds on earlier outputs in which an integrated and analytical approach to the selection of materials for cleaner production is developed to aid decision-making by engineers. A tool is presented and followed up with a case study with a direction of travel for further study. In the short time since publication, the approach has been adopted by others and developed further.
