Additional information

A.E. Housman: Classical Scholar (London: Duckworth, 2009) was a collection of fifteen essays that I conceived and organised for the 150th anniversary of Housman’s birth. To help with the task of editing (once I had designed and commissioned contributions), and to offer an essay himself, I enlisted the help of Christopher Stray (Hon. Research Fellow, Swansea), with whom my research had often overlapped. In addition to editing the volume throughout (which we both read through in tandem), I submitted two pieces of my own: ‘Housman on Metre and Prosody’ (pp.117-37, 11,600 words) and ‘Housman and W.M. Lindsay’ (pp.193-216, 10,100 words).
