Building upon Livingstone’s practical investigation into the ‘readymade’ with particular focus on its conceptual significance and relation to sustainable approach and ideology, his paper ‘The Ceramic Regurgitant: Sustainability and the Readymade’ was selected through peer review for the conference ’Ceramic Arts and Design for a Sustainable Society’ Sweden (2011) and published in conference proceedings (ISBN: 987-91-633-8184-3, pp:36-53) and online at www.ics2011.se.

This research adds to current critical discourse with regards to ‘not making’ through presentation, dissemination, publication and collective discussion with leading theorists in the field, Glenn Adamson, Tanya Harrod, Ben Highmore and Jorunn Veiteberg.

Livingstone was invited to develop this research, presenting an extended paper at the October 2011 conference ‘Making or Unmaking? The Contexts of Contemporary Ceramics’ http://www.k-verdi.no/pdf/ProgramOkt2011.pdf in Norway.
