Additional information

<15> This paper is the definitive output resulting from several years of research work, and develops a state-of-the-art massively scalable (>50,000 node) distributed database system. The system was evaluated through analysis, simulation and implementation using multiple years of real-world data from Microsoft's corporate network. The technology described in the paper led directly to a Microsoft patent (US8375141 B2, granted Feb 12, 2013), and was selected for demonstration to senior staff at Microsoft's technology fair, TechFest. VLDB is a leading international journal in the field of databases, with an impact factor of 1.395.
