Double-weighted statement

The book is an original 236 page monograph comprised of seven chapters, each of which could be published independently as stand-alone articles in specialist journals. The project required an especially wide-ranging engagement with several discrete scholarly literatures—written in both English and French— that span the disciplines of philosophy, theology, critical theory, and politics. In order to write the work, Wood had to learn to read French fluently, having not had any previous formal instruction in the language.
