Additional information

Drawing on life histories of curators at the Victoria & Albert Museum conducted by Sandino, the chapter examines the impact of Civil Service protocols on curatorial expertise at the Museum. Contributors to the book (peer-reviewed by the Museums and Galleries Histories Group), which followed on from an international conference (peer-reviewed by The National Gallery and Museums and Galleries Histories Group) at The National Gallery, London (2009) include the American artist, curator and academic Jeffrey Abt, and the American art historian Donald Preziosi.

The book and chapter have been reviewed in Reviews in History by Dr Graham Black, in his review of Museums and Biographies: Stories, Objects, Identities (review no. 1399).
