'Caribbean Literature After Independence. The Case of Earl Lovelace' derives from an invited colloquium, held at the Institute for the Study of the Americas, a constituent of the School for Advanced Studies of the University of London. Schwarz organized the colloquium; negotiated with the Director of the Institute about publication; chose and edited the twelve chapters (combining established and early career writers, as well as a Caribbean fiction writer); and saw the manuscript through the press. Schwarz authored the Introduction (‘Where is Myself?' [5,214 words]) and the opening chapter ('Being in the World' [8,858 words]).
