Additional information

<22>One of the first papers to employ symbolic and statistical AI learning algorithms to detect emotions from open-ended improvisational inputs. The affect detection function also advised an intelligent improvisational agent to engage in focused discussion with human users around emotionally charged issues via role-play. This was a collaboration with three industrial partners: Hi8us Midlands Ltd, British Telecom and Maverick TV, funded by ESRC (RES-328-25-0009) and EPSRC (EP/C538943/1). The work led to a collaboration funded by Technology Strategy Board (AK014L) with MellaniuM Ltd (UK) and the National Autistic Society as industrial partners and Dr Zhang as a PI.
