b) The publication is the opening editorial for the new journal Hospitality & Society which seeks to promote interdisciplinary conversation and collaboration and to apply hospitality to issues of social, cultural and political significance. This editorial is based on an original interpretation of literature on the topic of hospitality drawn from a wide range of disciplines.

It employs a critical review based upon ratiocination and critical reflection leading to an overview of literature relating to hospitality and advancing an original interdisciplinary research agenda which develops the field of study.
