<23> This work was the result of collaborative project with Princeton University (US) in the area of 3D space reconstruction from content captured using a single aperture camera. It follows work done under two funded projects one by the BBC R&D on the creation of mixed 3D video and the other by EPSRC on video coding of 3D content. This work including previous publication by the authors is the first to demonstrate depth computation from real 3D data captured through a single aperture camera and it also formed the basis of the 3D VIVANT project funded by the EU FP7-ICT.
