Additional information

The paper reports the discovery of a novel self-assembling process based on a simple thermal pathway that enables the organization of self-assembling peptides at the nano, micro, and macroscale. This work led to the filling of a patent (US 2008/0299657 A1; WO 2008/101104), invited talks, and was fundamental to the invitation by the Royal Society of Chemistry to write a review article in Chemical Society Reviews in 2011. The paper played a key intellectual and technological role by serving as a base to an FP7 grant application on hierarchical self-assembling materials.
