A Novel Permanent Magnet Flux Switching Machine with an Outer-Rotor Configuration for In-Wheel Light Traction Applications
International collaboration between Cranfield University and Zhejiang University, funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant NSFC50677061) and Qiangjiang Professionals Program of Zhejiang Province (Grant 2006R10014). It proposes a novel method of electric bicycle propulsion that can offer high efficiency over wide operational range and excellent flux weakening capability. Furthermore, effective thermal management system can be easily implemented in the novel structure. (Weizhong Fang, General Manager of Hangzhou Easitech Co., LTD, email:fangwy@easi-tech.com) Research insights led to a new collaborative project from The National Basic Research Program of China Program (China 973) in Zhejiang University under Grant 2011CB707204 (~£1M).
