Analysis and reform of cultural heritage policies in South East Europe
This publication arose from a collaborative research study funded by the Council of Europe into cultural heritage policies (architecture, archaeology and movables) in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, F.R.Y.O. Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia. The research involved country officials and other expert contributors, and led to an international seminar (Bucharest, Romania) and to this book - aimed at restructuring national heritage policies to contribute to regional and local development strategies. It was subsequently developed through joint initiatives (including the “Ljubljana Process”) by the Council of Europe and European Union in South-East Europe (2003 – 2014).
