Overlap with the author's 2007 book, Chartism: A New History, is limited to some factual references to the Chartist Land Plan and to the quotation that opens the piece. In the 2007 volume the treatment of the land question was limited to the Land Plan alone (likewise earlier histories of the Chartist movement). The genesis of collectivist responses to landed property within Chartism having been largely ignored, this output therefore offers a significant corrective to earlier works.
