Additional information

In the development of biorefinery systems, significant cost reduction could be achieved due to the production of co-products and this paper focuses on the elucidation of technical aspects essential for computer-based cost optimisation. This paper is significant because it demonstrates that complete gluten extraction is feasible if free amino nitrogen for the ethanol fermentation is provided via on-site fungal autolysis. Nordisk Etanol & Biogas AB has used information from this paper in its planning of a new ethanol plant (http://www.nordisketanol.se/index.html).
