This work formed the basis of a UK patent GB2460104 (date of publication 27/7/11). Following successful patent the intellectual property was commercially licensed to Midtherm Engineering Ltd, a UK based SME. The results from this work have been used for comparison by researchers in the field and rival manufacturers (Jones and Kirby 2010) and highlighted by Prof Awbi (University of Reading) at the CIBSE Building Simulation Group Seminar (2010) and the Keynote speech at the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (De Montfort University, 2010).
