Additional information

This output was disseminated from the ConTemp project (contract no.228585) funded by the EU FP7 NMP program. Machining produces high local temperatures in the contact areas between tool-chip and tool-work piece which normally lead to negative influence on machining performance and part finish. This paper details the optimisation of an internal micro channel structure of a tungsten carbide (WC) cutting tool to enhance heat transfer rate and thus increase the effectiveness of the internal cooling system.
