This article is based on research conducted in collaboration with the Historical Association and funded by the Higher Education Academy. The findings were presented at the annual meeting of AERA (Vancouver 2012) and were published on the Historical Association website and shared with the Association�s 6000 members through its email news and editorials in the journal Teaching History. They have also been cited in debate about the history curriculum in the House of Commons.
