Additional information

Results of this work motivated a new area of research in time-domain models for wire-bond wear-out (see for example http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.microrel.2011.07.052) and funded by the EPSRC Innovative Electronics Manufacturing Research Centre (EP/H03014X/1) under grant reference SP/03/02/11 (paul.conway@lboro.ac.uk). The knowledge is being exploited by Dynex Semiconductor (steve_jones@dynexsemi.com) and Semelab (Liam.Mills@semelab-tt.com) in the reliability design of power modules.
