Additional information

Dedes’ contribution consisted in 1) making the Turkish texts accessible to Sperl who does not know Turkish and is not familiar with Ottoman literature; 2) adapting a critical methodology derived from an Arabic framework to a Turkish context; 3) providing substantial critical input and insights in the analyses of the three poems undertaking during a joint reading; 4) providing comments and amendments to Sperl’s draft; and 5) providing the first ever translation of the poem by Fuzuli. The article represents an indivisible joint effort resulting from the combined expertise by the two authors
