Additional information

This paper presents a numerical modelling approach that shows how the explosivity of eruptions can be predicted. It led to international collaborations (Costanza.Bonadonna@unige.ch) and UKRC funding (Alison.rust@bristol.ac.uk NERC (NE/G015678/1). It was also part of an exhibit at the Royal Society Summer Exhibition 2010 (http://royalsociety.org/summer-science/2010/ - Looking deep into model volcanoes).
