Additional information

This work represents the first comprehensive study into aircraft wiring failure mechanisms published and has been extensively peer reviewed as with all IEEE Transactions papers. The work includes a taxonomy of faults and degradation mechanisms that includes physics of failure studies that are novel and practical. In addition an exemplar Failure Mode and Effect Study is included that has been based around the science of failure and field data from RAF Brize Norton used for validation. The work includes extensive analysis of published work and experimental data generated by the authors on wiring harnesses sourced from industrial collaborators.
