<21> Full paper in ACM CHI, the top publication venue in HCI. Established new ethical guidelines for large scale 'app store' trials of mobile HCI systems, responding to issues such as the difficulty in gaining informed consent at a distance and users' changing expectations of appropriate design. Rigour: based on app store trials involving ~300,000 users. This work is part of the ongoing work in the EPSRC programme grant A Population Approach to Ubicomp Systems Design (~£4M, EP/J007617/1).
