Additional information

This paper demonstrates broadbeam operation of the Surrey Vertical Nanobeam offering benefits of high throughput cell irradiation in addition to targeted irradiation with counted ions. This paper demonstrates both the versatility and usefulness of the Vertical Nanobeam designed by Grime, in the case of radio and proton beam therapy for the treatment of cancer. The Radiation Oncology unit at Oxford (Vojnovic) ensures take up of results by the medical community, which is acting to bring the community together and have much wider impact.
