In wireless communication systems, transmitting antennas can either be co-located at the base station site or distributed in many places. This research provides an accurate analytical tool enabling for designing placements of the antennas for highest capacity and energy efficiency performance. This tool is highly valuable to network operators saving them time and other resources in deployment of networks. This work has been performed in the framework of the ICT ROCKET project, involving industrial collaborators, such as Orange, Vodafone, O2 who will exploit the outcome.
