autre mers (other seas)
Françoise Dupré was artist, project manager, fundraiser and editor. Crafting the everyday brings together activities developed and realised in the context of Dupré’ s on going practice - led research which aims to open up and argue for new culturally hybrid and cosmopolitan aesthetic contexts at the intersection of textiles and sculpture, the local and the transnational, the domestic and the public. Dupré’s research investigates the nature, status and role of stitching and looping in the expending field and practice of sculpture and installation. This is achieved through the making sculptural objects and the realisation of temporary installations that engage with cultural and social contexts, including public art galleries and non-art spaces such as library, retail store, hospital and church.
