Significance of output:

Presenting the results of the first ever in situ annular flume measurements of resuspension and sediment stability in the North Sea, and made applicable to all shelf sea systems by relating stability to sediment properties and biological influences. Carried out in collaboration with industry partners Cefas and Partrac Ltd. This acts as the initial paper for a series using flume resuspension to model nutrient exchange (e.g. Couceiro et al, 2012, Biogeochemistry; Couceiro, in review, Limnology and Oceanography; Thompson et al, accepted, Limnology and Oceanography Methods), as well as becoming a key component in two recently funded NERC projects (NE/J012238/1; NE/IC001906/1)
