Significance of output:

With the ever-increasing importance of aircraft noise impacts on communities around airports, development of proper mathematical models to mimic the physics of these noise generation and propagation mechanisms from different noise components of aircrafts is of great importance. Jet mixing noise is one of the major noise contributors at take-off and this paper is concerned with the further improvement of the existing mathematical models by investigating time-scales associated with each jet region. It was shown that there exists an inherent frequency dependency in the new time-scale, which avoids supplementary mathematical enhancements needed in previous modelling.
