Significance of output:

In this paper, a new diagnostic technique was developed and utilised to study the fine-scale features in the far-field of a turbulent jet. The experimental technique has been used by other researchers to study the fine-scales of turbulent flows. This work, together with a subsequent paper, played a crucial role in the securing a large collaborative EPSRC grant to explore this mechanism across different turbulent flows (EP/I004785/1, Value £750k).
