Significance of output:

Journal paper based on work presented at the International Conference on Composite Materials ICCM 17 meeting in Edinburgh 2009. First author, Peter Wright won the best student award at ICCM 17 (out of 200 entrants) for his authorship and presentation of the work. This represents the first use of computed tomography to measure in situ crack opening displacements in composite materials which provides a powerful method with which to calibrate models predicting failure in these technologically important materials.
