Additional information

The novel method described in this paper has been implemented in the FMRIB Software Library (FSL, http://www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fsl) and has been widely used. Users are embracing it because it provides powerful detection of effects (e.g. patient-control differences, or drug-induced changes) while eliminating a bothersome tuning parameter from the analysis. It has also been implemented by another brain image analysis software package, Caret (http://brainvis.wustl.edu, David Van Essen vanessen@wustl.edu).
