The key finding of this paper is that the presented CFD simulations successfully match previously published model-scale experiments (RINA Medal for Exceptional Merit, DoI:10.3940/rina.ijsct.2009.b2.98; RINA Medal for Distinction, DoI:10.3940/rina.ijsct.2011.b1.111), but they still fail to match full-scale tests. The research contributed to the validation of numerical methods (ISBN:978-162276911-7, Paper 7) and to a review of experiments (http://goo.gl/Sarhos). The method has been further refined and commercially exploited in Germany (ISBN:978-162276911-7, Paper 27).
