Additional information

A major contribution to efforts to improve a vision-mediated tracking capability which overcomes some of the principal difficulties limiting the performance of traditional approaches. The technique proposed can more reliably handle transitions between straight and curved road segments than previously proposed methods and is highly robust with respect to scene clutter, partial occlusion and interference from other road markings. The technique represents a step change in the resilience of road tracking algorithms, and is, significantly, suitable for real-time applications (Contact: Dr Bai Li, University of Nottingham, Bai.Li@nottingham.ac.uk).
