Additional information

This fully peer-reviewed, invited paper resulted from leadership of the largest, radio over fibre work package (over 27% of effort) in the FUTON Integrating Project (FP7-ICT-2007-215533, EC contribution: €6.58M). It presented Kent's overall design and the validation of the adopted optical fibre system architecture, complementing a contributed, collaborative paper in the same issue. Invited presentations followed, e.g. keynote at 2011 IEEE Globecom Workshop (http://das-workshop.upatras.gr/IEEE_First_workshop_on_DAS_for_broadband_mobile_systems/Workshop_program.html) and panel membership at WCNC 2013 Technology and Business Panel on C-RAN (http://wcnc2013.ieee-wcnc.org/tecbus.html), as did lead editorship of the book “Next Generation Wireless Communications using Radio over Fiber” (Wiley: 2012).
