Additional information

This work demonstrated that our immobilised photocatalytic nanoparticles can inactivate E. coli in real surface water and therefore can make a significant impact in the development of sustainable disinfection technologies which are essential to reduce waterborne disease in developing regions. Arising out of this, larger scale systems were developed under EU FP6 project, SODISWATER (project no. 031650) and a small scale prototype under EU FP7 SME Capacities AQUAPULSE (project no. 286641). Generated IP is now being exploited by 3 European SME’s partners.
