Significance of output:

For the first time the concept of multi-dimensional vector cross product is introduced for significantly reducing arithmetic complexity of FastICA, which is utilised for developing the body-worn sensor platform in ARTEMIS funded CHIRON project. The benefits of this are ultra low-power signal processing capability and increasing battery lifetime, as demonstrated using an Android platform. Performance analysis demonstrates low computational complexity and high accuracy. The CHIRON platform is currently undergoing patent trials with 100 patients in Rome and Southampton.
