Modeling and analysis of communication networks in multicluster systems under spatio-temporal bursty traffic
<05> This paper develops the first ever analytical model for large-scale interconnection networks in high-performance multi-cluster computing systems. The unique feature of the model is its ability of capturing the realistic nature (i.e., spatio-temporal burstiness) of real-world network traffic. The paper pioneers original and scalable methods for addressing the challenging issue of modeling superposition and splitting of spatio-temporal bursty traffic. The work is cited by other papers published in the top international journals. The model can be applied to improve the design of high-performance computing systems and relieve the degrading effects of bursty traffic on the system performance.
