Additional information

This EPSRC funded work is the outcome of a successful collaboration with the University of Edinburgh in the application of heat transfer in microgravity environment. This paper successfully describes the results from an experimental and theoretical study of the effect of an electric field on nucleate boiling and the critical heat flux in pool boiling of R123 at atmospheric pressure on a horizontal wall. This paper attracted a huge attention when it was presented in ECI International Conference on Boiling Heat Transfer. This work led to a new investigation on the production of microbubbles by EHD enhancement.
