Additional information

The refrigeration system simulator is a novel transient model of the dynamic interaction between refrigeration systems and food in chilled or frozen cold rooms and can be used to determine strategies for optimum energy efficiency. The model developed is the first time that process and system models have been integrated. This enables system designers, end-users and operators of complex industrial and commercial refrigeration facilities to be able to optimise system and process performance. The model was developed in a DEFRA-collaborative project and has been used by a number of national and international organisations. Verification: Miriam Rodway, Institute of Refrigeration, Miriam@ior.org.uk.
