Double-weighted statement

The value of this volume resides in a) the recovery and b) the analysis of a body of texts, establishing for the first time the full extent and the nature of this important public discourse on language in the Nazi period. It is the result of extensive archival research in Marbach and Berlin, including a systematic search of physical and microfilm copies. The contextualization and analysis of this discourse, and of the academic literature on it, provided in the Introduction and the academic apparatus, add important detail and conceptual nuance to German scholarship in the field.
