Additional information

This is the first paper to introduce fibre members as the mass and heat transfer media. It is a translation from the theoretical research to development of a practical product. This rigorous research was carried out using both experimental and numerical methods within an environment controlled chamber. It is part of a DTI project (£190,000), in collaboration with two industry partners: ZED factory and Hangzhou ISAW Technology Corporation (Director: Yijun Yuan; email: iisaw@163.com; Web: http://www.i-isaw.com/mian_E.php). This research developed the new ‘energy recovery’, which is one of the main products of ISAW.
