Double-weighted statement

This monograph elaborates a new conceptual modelling for French memories of the Second World War. It makes uses of an extensive range of critical frames read against and through a substantial body of primary texts, sourced in France and little studied to date. These frames encompass memory studies, war studies, popular culture and crime fiction studies. The 65,000 word monograph was supported by a British Academy grant (2007) and was the result of five years of collation of primary materials, above all in specialist collections in France (Bibliothèque des littéraires policières, Paris).
