Ceramica punica dal sito rurale di Truncu 'e Molas (Terralba, Sardegna)
The remit of the Terralba Rural Settlement project is to intensively investigate eight Punic period rural farm sites in east-central Sardinia, near the Punic/Roman town of Neapolis.
The objective of this work is to use new archaeological evidence to better comprehend rural organization in Punic Sardinia. This report concerns the analysis of pottery collected during the survey and artefact collection conducted at the Punic/Roman site of Truncu ‘e Molas.
Preliminary analysis of pottery fabric and form confirms the presence of Punic-style vessels, in both local and imported (Greco-Italic) fabrics and forms. This site provides insight into the relationship between late antique urban and rural settlements.
