<26>This paper will directly benefit the animation and games industry, both strong in the UK. The paper describes a fundamental step forward in automatic skinning that provides realistic skin deformations at the joints of animated characters, to a degree not achieved by earlier methods. This work appeared in SIGGRAPH 2013, the top conference in computer graphics, whose proceedings are published in the ACM journal, Transactions on Graphics.
